This was a day that I’d looked forward to for weeks; Miss Pace’s fourth-grade, end-of-the-year party. I had happily volunteered my mother when Miss Pace requested cookie volunteers. Mum’s a surgeon and her chocolate chips were supreme on our block, and I knew they’d be a hit with my classmates. But two o’clock passed, and there was no sign of her. When she entered my room and sat beside me on my bed, I didn’t move but instead stared blankly into my pillow refusing to acknowledge her presence. “I’m so sorry, honey,” she apologized and began to explain. “It’s okay, Mum,” I gently held her hands as I tried to comfort her. 妈妈解释原因(语言,动作,神态描写;呼应--surgeon; chocolate chips ) 妈妈其实之前已经准备好材料,但没时间做 (表示愧疚) 我的反应(理解并原谅妈妈,看到妈妈的愧疚,进行安抚) “It’s okay, Mum,” I gently held her hands as I tried to comfort her. 语言上进行安抚(语言,动作描写;呼应之前的party) 妈妈的反应(动作描写) 升华 (亲人之间的理解与原谅) “I’m so sorry, honey,” she apologized and began to explain. “I had just finished an emergency surgery which lasted for several hours. By the time it was over and I had a chance to check my messages, I realized that I had missed the party,” she explained, with a tired face. In fact, she had already prepared the ingredients for the cookies the night before. But she had no time to bake them. Hearing this, I realized that she was just as disappointed as I was. “It’s okay, Mum,” I gently he ... ...
