At 40, I’d been writing essays (文章) for a decade. While I’d had some minor success with unpaid bylines (署名行), most of my essays were overlooked after I sent them into the vastness of the Internet. But writing is deep-rooted in me, and despite my frustration (沮丧), giving up wasn’t an option. I decided to go back to school.
