新外研版七年级上册 U1 A new start (1) My first lesson The first lesson that I learnt at junior high was English. My English teacher is Miss Smith, who is kind and friendly. The lesson was exciting. In the lesson, she introduced herself first. And then, she taught us some basic words, such as “eraser”, “textbook” and so on. What’s more, we also played some activities with her. All of us had great fun. After the lesson, I felt proud of myself. I learnt that learning a new thing is enjoyable. (2) Dear mum and dad, I’m glad to hear from you. I’d like to say “thank you” from the bottom of my heart. I am ready for my junior high school life. Primary school and middle school are very different. Firstly, junior high school has more subjects than in primary school. Junior high courses are even more challenging. Secondly, the teaching style is different from primary school. For me, my problem is I’m afraid that I couldn’t fit in well. But I remembered what you have said to me. When I got to school, I found teachers and classmates were really sweet to me. I soon forgot my nervousness. In the future, maybe I will meet my challenges, but I believe I will get over the difficulties. U2 More than fun My hobby As we all know, different people have different hobbies, such as reading, writing and so on. My hobby is reading. I’m a book lover. Through reading, I can benefit a lot from it. First, it gives me knowledge, which broadens my horizon. What’s more, it brings me fun. There are so many stories in books that I always lose myself in the wonderful world. Finally, it helps me make friends because I can share the joy of reading with them. In short, reading books is good for me. Let’s read books together. U3 Family ties (1) My Family I have a happy family. There are five people in my family, my grandparents, my parents and I. They are the most important people in my life. My grandparents are kind and loving. They tell me stories about their childhood and teach me valuable lessons about life. As for my dad, he is a strict teacher. He likes playing basketball in his free time. As for my mum, she is a nurse who works to help ill people. My parents work hard to support me in whatever I do. I’m a junior high student now. I share the joy and sorrow with my families and they always stand back on me. In short, I feel grateful to have a wonderful family. I will always cherish them in my heart. (2) An impressive family activity Hello, everyone. It’s my pleasure to share an impressive family activity here. Last summer holiday, my family went climbing a mountain. At first, I was very excited. But soon I felt tired and wanted to give up. My father encouraged me and gave me a hand. At last, we got to the top. Then I found the way wasn’t so hard. I was happy about doing it without giving up. So I want to say, “Thank you, dad. I love you.
