UNESCO awarded Shennongjia this status because it meets two criteria required by the list. 5. It contains a naturally-balanced environment. 6. Shennongjia has incredible biodiversity. 7. Thanks to the scientists’ efforts, the monkey’s population has doubled. 8. But the most impressive aspect is the local people, who live and work in harmony with nature. 9.
