Here we come!” Jobie said to her green shoes. They looked old but she didn’t care. They were her lucky shoes and she loved them. She expected to win the gold medal next Saturday wearing her lucky shoes. The next weekend couldn’t come soon enough. Jobie trained with excitement all week long. At practice, she jumped over those hurdles faster than ever. And soon everything in her way became a hurdle—flowerpots in her yard, bins on the way to school and even her little sister, Teka!
