Warm-up & Lead-in - Activity 1: Weather Talk Ask students: “What’s the weather like today How’s the temperature ” Invite 2–3 students to share, then introduce the weather report segment from the textbook. - Activity 2: Picture Prompt Show a photo of the Great Green Wall and ask: “What do you see Why do we plant trees ” to activate prior knowledge and lead into the topic. 2. Pre-listening & Vocabulary Building - Vocabulary Introduction Present core words with visuals: seedling, soil, dig, prevent, dust, temperature. Use simple definitions: “A seedling is a young tree.” - Pronunciation Practice Model and drill the words as a class, focusing on stress and intonation. - Pre-teach Sentence Structures Introduce sequence markers (First, Then, Finally) and benefit patterns (Trees help ... / Trees prevent ...), with quick examples. 3. While-listening Activities - Task 1: Listen & Tick (Ex. 2) Play the first conversation once. Ask students to tick the items mentioned (weather, school project, steps to plant trees, reasons for planting trees, a way to learn about nature).
