Mogao Caves are magnificant art treasures. Mogao Caves, or the Caves of the Thousand Buddhas(千佛洞), are located in Dunhuang, Gansu Province, on the ancient Silk Road. The murals (壁画)and Buddha figures (佛像)in these caves are world-famous. The area was listed as a world cultural heritage by UNESCO in 1987. Unfortunately, Mogao Caves are disappearing.
