Unit　5　Magazine　Articles 1教学目标 （一）教材分析 授课文本选自《英语（牛津上海版）》八年级第二学期Module 2 Unit 5 Magazine Articles的补充阅读材料Scientists Discover a Sixth Sense。本模块以“大众传媒”为主题，而单元话题则围绕“杂志文章”，呈现了杂志文章可能涉及的内容与体裁。该文本是依据Dr Sheldrake的一项真实的实验报告展开，探究人类在被人盯着看的时候，是否有能力感知，是一篇科普性较强又不乏趣味的文章。依据牛津教材对More Practice这一栏目设立的要求，该文本旨在对主体作进一步的延伸，帮助学生了解科普文章（作为杂志文章的一个常见分类）的基本要素，并联系生活拓展学生视野。 （二）教学目标 通过阅读，学生能掌握本课目标词汇：five senses (hearing, smell, sight, taste, touch), stare at, prove, blindfold, blow a whistle, in random order等。 通过预测、略读、细读等不同的阅读技巧，学生能对第六感有一个基本的认知。 通过合作学习，学生能了解实验报告的基本要素，并加以实际运用独立完成实验。 通过结合自身经历与实验，学生的辩证思维能力能得到提升。 2学情分析 授课班级为八年级外招班，整体基础水平较好，学生思维敏锐、记忆力强、课堂注意力集中，具有良好的创新意识和丰富的想象力，以及良好的自主学习能力。在单元主课文的铺垫之下，学生对杂志文章的表现形式有了基本的认识，又因为授课班级对科普性知识有较为浓厚的兴趣，更加适合拓展性思维的课程内容。 3重点难点 1. 学习重点 了解文本特征，把握实验报告的基本要素 发现、感知并探索第六感 2. 学习难点 在捕捉文本信息、对比真实实验步骤、结合自身感受的过程中激发辩证思维，推进语言表达 4教学过程 教学活动 活动1 【导入】Pre－reading Ask Ss to tell what liquid it is in the bottle Show Ss pictures on optical illusion 活动2 【讲授】While－reading Ask Ss to look quickly at the title and the picture and make a prediction about what the passage will be about 活动3 【讲授】While－reading Guide Ss to divide the passage into 3 parts 活动4 【讲授】While－reading Have Ss figure out the definition and the example of the sixth sense 活动5 【活动】While－reading Have Ss complete the experimental report: a. ask Ss to fill out the form b.
