It’s taken from English This Way Book 8.Now I’ll talk about it from 3 aspects. 1st: Teaching Analysis The teaching material is taken from , Book 8. The topic of this lesson is about sums, and the content is about a dog show. We have learned about some animals before this lesson. The Ss are interested in watching a dog show. Most of them can say the numbers and express the sums in English. But some Ss haven’t command the expression of numbers, like “thirteen” and “fifteen”. They are active in different kinds of games and tasks.According to the teaching analysis, I design the teaching objectives as follows: About Knowledges: a. Master the numbers and new words: plus, minus, ask, answer b. Command the sentence patterns: What is plus _ ? It’s . About Abilities: a. Students can read the text and express sums in English. b. To train the students’ abilities of listening,speaking and reading by co-operation and communication. About Emotion a.To increase their confidence in learning English. b.To inspire their love for animals 2nd: Teaching points and methods Key points: Ss can listen and read the text; Ss command the words and sentence structures Dif. points: Ss master the numbers and expression of sums Ss can communicate with others in real life Teaching methods: I will use situational teaching method , commnicative approach and task-based approach to guide them to form good habits of learning English. In this way, I think we can catch the key points and solve the difficult points step by step. In this lesson, I will use teaching aids such as headwear and PPT. 3rd:Teaching proceduresStep 1: warming-up Sing a song review the new words Aimed to create a relaxed atmosphere between the T and Ss, review the numbers by the song, and make preparation for the next step. Step 2: Presentaion I ask, you answer. Let’s do sums. (show the new phrases : great, well done, good for you) Lead in the “show”, practice it Aimed to lead-in the new word: show. And do some sums to get ready for the text.Reading activities: Listen read and anwer Listen, read and do exercises(T/F) Aimed to develop the Ss’ listening and reading abilities. This step is intended to help the Ss command some effective methods of reading and listening. Step 3:practice Act out the dialogue( T and 2 Ss ) Listen and read. Quick response Role-play in teams: read the text by roles. Role- play in groups of four, then show it Aimed to improve their speaking abilities. According to role-play in groups, they will learn to co-operate and communicate with others in real situations. The tasks are designed to solve the difficult points step by step.Step 4: consolidation and homeworkEnjoy a dog show and do exercises T sums up this lesson by the Bb designing.
