We should take action to make our city more and more beautiful. 3. make somebody do something 使某人做某事， do是动词原形。 eg. Who made him stand outside? The white T-shirt makes him look so smart. 4. honest adj. 诚实的 an honest boy / dishonest adj. 不诚实的 a dishonest boy 5. Do you believe what he/she says? = Do you believe his/her words？你相信他/她的话吗？ believe v. 相信 believe sb/sth 相信某人/某事 believe it or not! 信不信由你！ 6. There’s nothing else in the fridge. 冰箱里没别的东西了。 else 是形容词，意为“其他的，另外的”， 在句中作定语，不能修饰名词。 （1）可以修饰复合不定代词 something, everything, anything, nothing, somebody, everybody, nobody, anybody eg. He had nothing else to say . （2）else 也可修饰疑问代词 what ,who eg. What else do you want? ( 3 ) else 也可修饰疑问副词 when, where 等 eg. Where else did they go yesterday？ 7. Can I have some more food too? 我也能再来点吃的吗？ more 表示“额外的，另外的，增加的” 【用法】：more表示“再”，常与some，a little，a few或具体的数词连用。 【举例】We will plant twenty more trees.我们将再种二十棵树。 Can I have a few more?我还能再吃几个吗？ 【辨析】many more + 可数名词；much more+不可数名词；some more+可数/不可数 eg. Can I have a look at one more book? = Can I have a look at another book? I’d like ten more books. = I’d like another ten books. I have many more friends than you. 8. Can I have something to drink, please?请问，我能喝点什么吗？ 【用法】have something to drink表示“喝点东西”。类似的表达还有：have something to eat（来点吃的东西），have something to do（做点事情）。 【举例】If you are thirsty, have something to drink.如果你渴了，就喝点什么吧。 Would you like to have something to eat mow?你现在想吃点东西吗？ 【注意】在表示邀请或请求时，在问句中用something代替anything。 Ⅳ. 课堂巩固练习 一、根据短文意思和首字母提示填入适当的词 Hobo is very h_____.
