The cat has a hat. 教师要求学生快速读句子，比一比看谁读的快，读的准。在确定学生都能流利读出句子之后要求学生以小组讨论的形式，找出划线字母的发音规律，每组派一个学生汇报。各组回答完毕之后，教师总结归纳：在一个单词以字母a加一个辅音字母直接结尾时，字母a的发音为[ ]。 在确定学生能够准确读出并按照发音拼读单词之后，教师利用课件出示另一组单词：face，cake, name, make。让学生仍旧以小组的形式练习拼读单词，并讨论总结字母a的发音和构词的规律。小组汇报，最后教师总结：字母a在一个辅音字母和一个不发音的e结尾的单词中字母本身的音[ei]。教师出示更多类似的单词，帮助学生巩固对这一类单词的认识。 完成Read, listen and chant 教师播放录音，第一遍让学生听，第二遍让学生尝试 ... ...
