UNIT 8 GROWING HEALTHY ,GROWING STRONG --Health and Habits Date: Class: Grade 7 class 4 Teacher: Teaching aim: knowledge aim: learning to use the sentence with too much/ too many/ too little/ too few to give others your opinions. learning to use the sentence with should and more/ fewer/ less to give others suggestions. learning to organize the different structures ,like what’s wrong with you /what should I do /You should ……/I am going to…… to make short dialogues. ability aim: cultivating students the ability of talking about daily life and habits. cultivating students the ability of making a decision on healthy life and good habits. emotional aim: encouraging students to live a healthy life. encouraging students to choose good habits and change their bad habits. encouraging students to cooperate with partners to make dialogues and act it out. Language focus: 1. Using the simple past tense to talk about past actions. 2. Asking Wh- questions to find out specific information. 3. Using adverbs of degree. 4. Using quantifiers to describe amounts. 5. Using modal verbs to make suggestions. Language skills: Listening Identify main ideas in a topic Listen for specific information Speaking Open and maintain an interaction by asking and answering questions Reading Recognize recurrent patterns in language structure. Materials: Student’s book 7A in page 61,62 Multimedia material 7A Cassette from internet Multimedia material from internet Teaching procedures Pre-task preparation 1. look and say (1). look at picture of Joe and ask students what they think of Joe. (2). let students look at the picture and tell the things Joe did last week every day. While- task procedure. 1. look and think -- Look at the things Peter and Alice did last week ,think about who has bad habit (learning the use of too much/ too many/ too little/ too few. ) 2. look and say (1)Let students tell their own opinions about Joe’s habit with too much/ too many/ too little/ too few. (practice the use of too much/ too many/ too little/ too few.) (2)Let student use another structure to express your opinion. (learning the use of not……enough) think and say -- if you are doctor, what will the doctor suggest Joe. Ask students to give Joe some advice with should and more/ fewer/ less (practice the use of should and more / fewer/ less) listen and repeat. --play a short dialogue, ask students to listen and repeat the sentences one by one. act it out. -- ask students to make short dialogues according to the key sentences. S1: What’s wrong with you S2: I ……(a headache/a bad cold/ fever/…… ) S1: What did you do last……? S2: I ……(watch/ play/ eat/ drink/ wear/…….) What should I do?
