Learn about something about nature reserve. 过程与方法目标: To understand the whole passage and get the main idea of each paragraph by learning the reading skills. 情感态度与价值观: Arouse students awareness of protecting birds and places birds living in. 重点 Understanding of the new words and the logical relation among the paragraphs. 难点 The analysis of the article. 教学过程 教学环节 教师活动 学生活动 设计意图 导入新课 Lead-in: Brainstorming(2’) To think about the types of birds (e.g. swan) and land/earth (e.g. desert) and complete the mind map. 积极思考见过或学过的鸟和土地的种类。 激活学生已有的知识,构建信息差,增加趣味性。 讲授新课 Pre-reading(6’) 1.Predict So, can you predict what we will learn next? Play the listening tapes and let students underline the unknown words and phrases. 2.Words Teacher gives some words (e.g. provide, perfect, prevent) and let students find them from the article and guess the meaning of them. And then explain those words for students with pronunciation and examples. Exercise(2’) Sandy does not know the meanings of some words in the article. Help her match the words on the left with the meanings on the right. Task2: match the main idea and paragraph. 2.Scanning Read the article in detail and then finish the task (T or F) to check students understanding of each paragraph. Teacher should give some guidance, for example, you should read word by word or sentence by sentence. 3.Group work Read the passage again and give some questions which need a deep thinking in mind. Give them time to discussion in group. Post-reading(8’) Task1: role-play Fill the blank in group and practice the conversation among two students. Task2: discussion Imagine if you were a member of the Birdwatching Society, what can you do to protect the birds and the wetlands. Exercise(7’) 1. Match the word with the picture. 2.
