Only a year later, Earth Hour had become a global sustainability(全球可持续发展) movement . More than 50 million people across 35 countries took part in it. Global landmarks(全球地标) such as the Sydney Harbour Bridge, CN Tower in Toronto, Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, all were in darkness in 2007. On the last Saturday of March 27 in 2009, hundreds of millions of people took part in the third Earth Hour. Over 4000 cities in 88 countries officially switched off the lights for the planet. Earth Hour in 2011 took place at 8.30PM on Saturday March 26 (local time). People turned off the lights to think about what else they can do to make a difference.
