Module 1 The human body Unit 2 Care for hair 教材分析 This is the second unit of the first module of the textbook. And students just start their high school life. It is important to stimulate and strengthen their interest in learning English. The first lesson should be interesting and not so difficult, to help them review a little bit and build up the confidence. This book includes three modules, The Human Body, Colorful Life and Food for Thought, designed to help students get better understanding of their own body and the healthy life style. This unit will teach students the knowledge on hairstyles and present the importance of hair care. Students can also learn how to make appointment and get appointment details while communicating with others. 教学目标 【语言目标】 By the end of this unit, students will be able to know: 1. Words and phrases: hairstyle, suit, guarantee, on top of the world, expert, curl, balanced, in addition, shampoo, effective, normal, apply, wet, squeeze, comb, damage, loosen, dirt, overuse, It is +adj.+for/of sb to do, be+adj+ enough +to do. 2. Grammar: Sentence elements: Subjects, verbs and objects; complements and adverbials. 【能力目标】 By the end of this unit, students will be able to know: 1. How to make appointment and get appointment details when communicating. 2. How to show interest and change the subject when communicating. 3. How to notify the person you have the appointment before you miss an appointment. 【情感目标】 By the end of this unit, students will be able to: 1. have some knowledge on hairstyles and hair care. 2. realize that Nature is Beauty. 教学重难点 1. How to make appointment and get appointment details when communicating. 2. How to notify the person you have the appointment before you miss an appointment. 3. Sentence elements: Subjects, verbs and objects; complements and adverbials. 课前准备 Multimedia, Text book, whiteboard and PPT slides 教学过程 Period 1 Introduction & Reading Step 1 Warm-up 1. Show some words about hair and hair care, then ask students: Do you know what does they mean? 2. Show some new words and pictures about hair care: hairdryer, tower, comb, hairbrush, shampoo, conditioner. 3. Show students some different hair styles. Ask students: Look at the following hairstyles and see which one you like. Use adjectives to describe the hairstyle. Then show some pictures of short/long/curly/straight hairstyles and let students use their own words to describe them, such as cute, elegant, energetic, younger, active. 4. Let students have a group Discussion. Are you satisfied with your hairstyle? Do you think one’s hairstyle is important? Why or why not? How often do you wash your hair?
