Lead-in Free talk Prepare some pictures about the universe and lead them to think of any related words. Prepare a net chart for them to observe and talk. Step 2. Listen and read Play the tape for students to listen and answer. Listen to a talk about classifiers and numerals. ①Talk about the photos. “What’s this?”“It’s a bowl.”“What’s inside it?”“Some rice.” ②Listen to the tap and finish the exercise. Step 3. Presentation Show the question:What things are there on the earth? Look at the photos and the title of the poster , then answer the question like this:There is … on the earth? Train the students’ ability to cooperate and compete. Let the students read the text correctly. Step 4. Choose and read Read the text and finish the chart: Why should we protect the earth? Because There are There are Because We _____this _____. How should we protect the earth? We must___ We must ____ To make them get familiar with the details of the text and train their ability of reading. Step 5. Brain-storming Show them some pictures and lead them to describe: What can you see in the picture? To arouse their interest and get them to use some simple nouns. To develop their interest and lead them to the world of nouns. Step 6. Tick and answer Discussion about the ways to protect the earth.
