They first broke the law in a way which was peaceful; when this was not allowed, they decided to answer violence with violence. 2) As a matter of fact, Elias did not like violence…, but in 1963 he helped the ANC Youth League to blow up some government buildings. It was very dangerous because if he was caught he could be put in prison.
