Elias was a poor black worker in South Africa. When he first met Nelson Mandela, he was in trouble and desperately unhappy. It was his difficult period in his life. Elias went to seek for help. Mandela was the black lawyer to whom he went for advice. He offered guidance to poor black people on their legal problems. S2. When Nelson Mandela organized the ANC Youth League, Elias joined it and he followed Mandela to fight against racial discrimination, finally achieved equality with whites. After Elias join the ANC Youth League, he and his colleagues chose to attack the laws. They first broke the law in a way which was peaceful; when this was not allowed, they decided to answer violence with violence. S3. As a matter of fact, Elias did not like violence…, but in 1963 he helped the ANC Youth League to blow up some government buildings. It was very dangerous because if he was caught he could be put in prison. But Elias was happy do it because he knew it would help them achieve their dream of making black and white people equal.
