Today we’ll continue to learn Unit 1. First let’s review the words we learned last time. 设计意图：复习上节课所学的词汇，为新课时的短文学习奠定基础。 Do exercises and review T: After going over the words, you can do exercises of Section A 2d to review more about last lesson. 设计意图：活跃课堂气氛，复习上节课的内容。 Step 2 Pre-reading Look, read and predict T: Now let’s start our new lesson. Please look at the picture in 3a carefully and read the title of the passage. Then discuss the following questions. ? What happened to the man lying on the side of the road? ◆ Who is the woman? What was she doing? ◆ Who is the man getting off the bus? What would he do? 设计意图：利用图片和标题，激活学生脑海中的图式，有助于正确理解短文内容。 Work on 3a Read quickly and answer T: This time you should read the passage quickly and find the answer to the question. You’d better find some key words to help you. Does the passage come from a newspaper or a book? 设计意图：引导学生快速阅读，捕捉有用信息，从而提高学生的判断能力和阅读能力。 Look and learn 1. T: Before you read the passage carefully, let’s look and learn some words and phrases. 2. T: When we use the phrase “to one’s surprise”, pay much attention to the comma following it. 3. T: “thanks to” looks similar to “thanks for”. But there’s difference between them. 设计意图：学习新词，为阅读文章扫清词汇障碍。 Step 3 While-reading Read and say T: Look at the timeline of the story.
