(that) 注：由陈述句变成宾语从句时，由连词that引导，因为that在从句中不作任何成分，也没有任何具体意思，因此在口语或非正式文体中常省略。 一般疑问句变成宾语从句 Do you often come here to read newspaper? She asked. She asked_____I often came here to read newspaper. 2. He asked _____ they would go to visit the Great Wall. whether (if) 由从属连词whether, if 引导的宾语从句 whether (if) 注：由一般疑问句变成宾语从句时，由连词whether或if引导，if/whether翻译成：“是否”，常用在ask, wonder, can / could you tell me 等后。具有一定的意义，所以不能省略。 (1)在动词不定式之前只能用 whether。 例句：I can’t decide whether to stay. 我不能决定是否留下。 (2) whether 后可直接接 or not,而 if 不可以。 例句：I want to know whether or not it’s good news. 我想知道是否是好消息。 (3) 在介词后,只能用 whether。 例句：His father is worried about whether he will lose his work.他的父亲担心是否会失去工作。 只能用whether不能用if的情况 (4) 从句在句首时用Whether。如: Whether you like it, I don’t mind. 你是否喜欢, 我不介意。 (5) 用 if 会引起歧义时,只用 whether。 注意：Could you tell me if you know the answer? 这句话有两种意思：“你能告诉我是否知道答案吗?”或“如果你知道答案,可以告诉我吗?” 如用 whether 可避免歧义。 (6) 如果主句已有一个if引导的条件句，为了避免产生混淆，应使用whether。如： He asked me whether, if there was enough time, I wanted to go to his office. 他问我如有足够的时间是否想去他的办公室。 只能用whether不能用if的情况 由连接代词who, whom, whose, which, what及连接副词 when, where, how, why引导的宾语从句。 特殊疑问句变成宾语从句 1.
