His mother was happy and promised she would watch the match. In the first half, Spider fouled. Stoneley was in the lead. Mr. Smithers encouraged him. In the second half, Spider chipped the ball over the bar. Jason Best blamed him. At last he scored a goal and made his team win. Everyone praised him. Chapter 2 At Parkfield School Spider’s school Parkfield had a very good football team. If they could draw against Stoneley in the last match, they would be champions. But the day before the match, Chickenpox hit Parkfield. Many players were ill. Mr. Smithers had to ask Spider to play in the match.
