Some people have nicknamed it “The Little Red Dot” because it is so small that it often just appears as a little red dot on the map. It was originally part of the Federation of Malaysia but gained independence in 1965. It has a multi-racial(多种族的) population, with the Chinese being the largest group, followed by Malays and Indians. Singapore is home to the world’s largest observation wheel (the Singapore Flyer), the world’s largest aquarium (S.E.A. Aquarium), and the first wildlife night park (Night Safari).
