Unit 7 Section B Reading教学设计 【教学设计】 单元名称: Unit 7 What’s the highest mountain in the world? 课文标题: Section B, Reading 教材版本: 人教版 Go for it! 授课年级: 八年级 教学目标 1. Knowledge and skills Guide students to understand the content of the passage and complete the tasks; teach students to learn and use the new reading strategy—scanning to look for specific information; help students to understand new words by reading the context: run over, walk into, fall over, excitement, endangered, keeper and or so; guide students to discuss in groups and write a short speech for a panda called “Tao-Tao”. 2. Processes and methods Guide students talk about the symbols of China by using the superlatives to describe it, motivating their sense of national pride; make students to read the passage quickly to get the main idea of each part on their first reading; lead students to read carefully on their second reading, getting the key information and understanding the writing purpose gradually; guide students to read and think independently while reading, and then learn to discuss in groups to think what pandas really think after reading. 3. Emotion attitude and values Guide students to experience the love between panda keepers and pandas; lead students to pay attention to the present situation of pandas and think what they can do for them; guide students to stand in pandas’ places and speak for them; expect students to educate more people and take part in helping wild animals. 教学重点 Practice reading strategy: scanning. Guide students to understand the importance of saving endangered pandas and join the team. Lead-in T: In my opinion, the panda is a symbol of China. It is the cutest animal in China. 大熊猫是中国的一大标志/象征。为激活学生思维,教师设计了一个暖身环节,让学生说说中国的象征,同时也可以顺利引出本课的主角—大熊猫。 因为本单元的语法重点是比较级和最高级,这里所给的支撑句也是提示学生使用最高级,谈谈象征祖国的各个“中国之最”。 Step 2 We Read While-reading activities: I. Read for the gist Skimming: Read the passage quickly and match each part with its main idea. II. Read for details 1.
