Teacher divides students into boys’ group and girls’ group. Teacher and students sing “ I can make a circle” and do the actions together. Step2 Presentation of new knowledge Teacher tells the children that we will go on learning unit 8 shapes. Elicit “Shapes.” Have the children repeat for 2 times. “ Magic bag”. Teacher uses “magic bag” to present some of the new vocabulary. Teacher sticks the word cards on the blackboard after presenting the words. “ Touch and guess” . Teacher shows a real bag and some real objects to invite some students to touch and guess “What shape is it ”. Teacher sticks the word cards on the blackboard after presenting the words. Step3 Practice of new knowledge Teacher point to the word cards on the blackboard and guide students to read the new words together. Teacher helps students to practice the new knowledge by three exercises. Exercise 1: Who’s faster Teacher invites 2 lines of students at the same time by saying “ train train train”. Students touch and read the word cards of different shapes as fast as they can. Exercise 2: Which shape is missing First, students read words on the Power point together. Then teacher invites students to answer the questions individually. Students practice reading words of different shapes and colors. Exercise 3: How many Teacher asks students how many shapes and what color are they by showing different sheets of the Power point. Find shapes in the classroom. Teacher shows some real objects in the classroom and ask students “ what shape is it?”After answering a few questions, students can find and introduce some shapes in the classroom. Step4 Presentation and practice of the picture book “Shapes in Nature” Teacher tells students that we are going to find some shapes in nature. Elicit the word “nature” by showing a video of nature to the students. Then students repeat reading “nature” for 2 times. Show the cover of the book to students. Ask students “what’s this ” and “what shape do you see on the cover of the book ”. Guide students to read the cover and the title of the book. Show the video of the book. Show the inner pages of the book and ask students “what shape do you see ” Students answer questions by saying “ I see a/an ....” Then elicit “ oval” and “spiral”. Students repeat reading the book rhythmically after the teacher. Teacher guide students to read the book rhythmically with gestures and actions. Then students read the book in chant with gestures and ... ...
