I. Analysis of the text What: The topic of the text is about the dialogues between strangers and self introduction. The topic is about a person with his/her self. The first question is how to introduce oneself. What does a person introduce The name, age, hometown…… How: Speaker:teacher and classmates Turn:five turns. Language: phrases and sentences to greet and introduce oneself. Why: The purpose of the text is to help students introduce themselves in English. To be confident and friendly is important for them in a new school. They want to make friends. II. Analysis of students What they knew: Students may be familiar with Chinese self-introduction, they may know the simple greetings. They can use “be+….” sentence and change the forms of “be” according to the subjects. What they wonder: They may not know how to use the target structure to ask and supply the personal information.
