Leading-in Teacher show a video of Langlang and ask students “What is he doing ” “What can he do ” Step 2. Free talk Show pictures of different people and ask students what he/she can do. After that, let students talk about themselves with the sentences “I can ...but I can’t...” Step 3.Pair work Teacher offers a picture with different activities. Students work in pairs and make a dialogue. Step 4. Listen and check Students listen to a record and check the things which Tony’s dad can do. Step 5. Free talk Teacher shows pictures of different clubs. Students talk about which club they want to join and give reasons. I would like to join…because… I can…so I’d like to join… Step 6. Listen and choose 1. Where does the conversation happen A. at home B. at school C. at a restaurant 2. What is the relationship between them A. teacher and students B. families C. classmates 3.What are they talking about A. They are talking about choosing clubs. B. They are talking about hobbies. C. They are talking about new lessons. Step 7.Listen and match. Listen again and find out what they can do. Then ask students to predict what clubs different students will choose. Step 8 Listen and check. Listen again and check the clubs they choose and give the reason. Eg: Daming would like to join the …, because .... Step 9 Imitate Students find out can/can’t in the text. Imitate the pronunciation after listening the record. Step 10 Group work Work in plete the table about students’ favorite clubs and what they can/can’t do.
