Unit 4 My Favourite Subject 第二课时 Section A 2a—2f This lesson uses listening tasks as a means.Based on the previous listening task,this conversation introduces the process of three students discussing their favourite subjects in the form of dialogue,presenting talking scenes and language,and helping students establish a subject concept.This dialogue is talking about their favourite subjects and the reasons why they like them best.This lesson helps the students initially establish the sense of using conjunctions in paragraphs and complete a brief report on a school day or subject that the class likes,and explain why. ◆ Language Proficiency(语言能力) 1.Master the target language and inquire about the preference of subjects,such as “What's your favourite subject?” Inquire about the reasons with “why”. 2.Understand the dialogue that talks about subjects. 3.Realize some grammar rules about giving reasons. ◆ Cultural Awareness(文化意识) By understanding the school subjects,students can speak out their favourite subjects and the reasons why they like the subjects best.It helps to stimulate students' interest in English speaking cultures and improve their cross cultural communication skills. ◆ Thinking Quality(思维品质) Develop students' logical thinking ability by learning the usage of conjunctions. ◆ Learning Capability(学习能力) 1.Learn to communicate with their classmates. 2.Cultivate students' good subject concepts and balanced attitudes. ◆ Teaching Focus(教学重点) Be able to accurately identify sentence structures in conversations that ask and answer questions about the subjects and the reasons,and use the target language for role playing. ◆ Teaching Difficulties(教学难点) 1.Be able to quickly and accurately obtain information such as being good with numbers through listening and reading conversations. 2.Be able to master giving reasons with and,but and because. ◆ Teaching Breakthroughs(教学突破) 1.Teachers encourage students to speak more and express themselves in English according to their actual situations. 2.Make students have clear goals and apply the sentence patterns learned in this lesson to oral communication to enhance their pragmatic abilities.
