Unit 7 Happy Birthday! 第一课时 Section A 1a—2 The main purpose of this lesson is to enable students to practice daily English oral communication in a real situation through the theme of birthdays,improve their listening,speaking and looking abilities,and cultivate their teamwork spirit. These four dialogues all revolve around birthdays and dates,allowing students to learn daily communication skills such as expressing cardinal numbers and ordinal numbers,asking for ages and dates on this special occasion. ◆ Language Proficiency(语言能力) 1.Be able to correctly recognize and pronounce consonant phonemes(/h/,/r/,/l/,/m/,/n/,/?/,/w/,/j/),and correctly pronounce common vocabulary containing the above consonant phonemes. 2.Be able to correctly express dates in English. 3.Understand the semantic functions of and answers to special interrogative sentences containing “how old” “what” and “when”,and be able to correctly use this structure to inquire and answer about the time or activity of doing something. ◆ Cultural Awareness(文化意识) 1.Understand the differences in expressing dates between British English and American English. 2.By learning English expressions related to birthdays,the students can better understand Western culture and improve their cross cultural communication skills. ◆ Thinking Quality(思维品质) 1.Be able to quickly and accurately obtain information about the birthdays of the characters in the conversation through listening. 2.Be able to perform role playing politely and appropriately within the group,using language appropriately and correctly. ◆ Learning Capability(学习能力) Identify and correctly pronounce the pronunciation and intonation in sentences,and apply them to other situations. ◆ Teaching Focus(教学重点) 1.Be able to quickly and accurately obtain information about the birthdays of the characters in the conversation,as well as the time of the event through listening. 2.Create a dialogue to discuss the birthdays of family or friends in the target language. ◆ Teaching Difficulties(教学难点) Based on the given rising and falling tone symbols in the sentence,identify and master the pronunciation and intonation in the sentence. ◆ Teaching Breakthroughs(教学突破) The teacher needs to create certain contexts and guide students in their ability to summarize and integrate information. Activity 1 Warming up and revision(感知与注意) T:Today we are going to learn Unit 7.First,let's look at the title and the picture.What are we going to learn this unit?Yes,we are going to learn something about birthdays.Look at the picture and share the three questions.
