I want to be a cook when I grow up.的意思是 我长大后想成为一名厨师。 2,grow的意思是 成长,种植,种植水稻是 grow rice。grow up 中的grow意思是成长 如:She wants to find a good job when she grows (grow)up. 3,want to be的意思是 成为 。want是动词,意思是想,常见用法是want to do sth。相当于 would like to do sth.
