Free talk Ask students: “Have you ever been to a restaurant What did you have ” to start a conversation and lead into the topic of this lesson. (二)Presentation(10 分钟) 1. Show the menu on the PPT and introduce the different kinds of food and drinks and their prices. Teach the new words: dumplings, noodles, rice, coke, milk, water, juice, etc. Practice the pronunciation of the new words. 2. Present the key sentences Write the sentences “What would you like ” “I would like...” on the blackboard and explain their usage. Have students repeat the sentences after the teacher. (三)Reading and comprehension(10 分钟) 1. Ask students to read the conversation in the textbook silently and try to answer the following questions: How do they order the food What do they order What can they have for free in the restaurant How much do they pay according to the menu in Activity 1 2. Check the answers together and explain any difficulties. (四)Practice(10 分钟) 1. Do the matching exercise in Activity 3. Have students match the questions with the answers and check the answers. 2. Make a dialogue Look at the menu in Activity 1 and complete the conversation. Have students work in pairs to practice the dialogue. Invite some pairs to act out the dialogue in front of the class. (五)Production(8 分钟) 1. Role-play Divide the class into groups of three. One student acts as the waitress/waiter, and the other two act as customers. They should make a new conversation based on the menu and the key sentences learned. 2. Show time Invite some groups to come to the front and perform their conversations.
