    Starter Unit 2 What’s this in English Period 1 (1a–2e) 【教学目标】 ●知识目标 1. Learn to read and write the letters Ii--Rr 2. Learn to identify things in English. ●难点 Be able to identify things in English. 【教学准备】 A tape recorder, multi-media and some pictures. 【教学方法】 任务型教学法、多媒体教学法与情景交际法等相结合 【课时安排】 One period 【教学过程】 Step 1: Greetings 1. Greet the students in English. T:Good morning, class. Ss:Good morning, teacher. How are you T:I’m fine, thanks. How are you Ss:I’m OK. 2.Review letters A--H T: Can you say the letters from A to H Ss:Yes. A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H. Step 2: Lead-in Show some pictures and teach the students to learn the new words “map, cup, ruler, pen, orange, jacket, key, quilt” and ask: What’s this/that T:What’s this/that in English Ss:It’s a/an... Step 3: Presentation 1. Teach activity 1a T: Look at the letters in 1a. They are big letters...., can you read them out S1:Yes,... Teacher:Good. Now please look at the picture and look for the small letters in the picture for these big letters. Check the ones you find. (While the students are doing, the teacher moves around to help the ones who need help.) Answers: A√ C√ E√ G√ H√ 2. Teach activity 1b (1) Play the tape for the first time. Students only listen. (2) Play the tape for the second time. Students listen and repeat. (3) Ask some students to repeat the conversations. (4) Explain how to use articles “a” and “an” by playing PPT. 3. Teach activity 1c (1) Ask the students to practice the conversation in pairs. (2) Put the students in pairs. Ask them to make their own conversations using the things in the picture. (3) Leave them several minutes to do this activity. (4) Invite some pairs to act out their conversations. 4. Teach activity 2a (1)Show the 10 letters Ii--Rr on the screen, and teach the students to read them one by one. (2)Ask students to listen to the tape and read after it. (3)Teacher shows some letter cards and invite some students to read these letters, correcting their pronunciation mistakes if there is any. . Teach activity 2b (1)Play the tape for the first time. Students listen. (2)Play the tape for the second time. Students listen and number the letters. (3)Play the tape for the third time. Students listen and check their answers. Step 4: Practice 1. Teach activities 2c~2d (1)Present the letters Ii--Rr on the PPT. (2)Remind students the writing forms of the capital letters and small letters.
