Read and have a revision. To wake up the mind. Step 2 While-reading (Task 1)(10mins) 1. Ask the students to think about the Trojans’ part and try to write down the 3 secrets; 2. Ask the students to have a pair work to share the ideas. 1. Students think about the questions individually then write down the 3 secrets. 2. Students work in pairs to share their ideas. Task-based Teaching: 1. To develop students’ thinking skill. 2. To help students understand the dialogues. Step 5 While-reading (Task2) (8mins) Ask students to read the Greeks’ part and find out secret 4. Tell them to give reasons in the story. 1. Students think about the questions carefully and work out the secret 4; 2. Give reasons. Circle the key words in the story. Task-based Teaching: 1. To develop students’ thinking skill. 2. To help students understand the narrations. Step 6 While-reading (Task 3) (10mins) Guide the students to discuss which side they prefer, and tell the reasons. 1. Students discuss in groups. 2. Give answers and reasons. Group work: 1. To cultivate the students’ teamwork. 2. To train their creative thinking in English. Step 7 Post-reading (5mins) Make the students think about truth the writer wants to tell us to work out the last secret. Students work out the truth by the Greeks’ part and the Trojans’ part to find out the last secret in the story. Level up: 1. To develop students’ life spirit. 2. To make students interested in English learning. Step 8 Summary &Homework (2mins) 1. Summarize the reading skills. 2. Assign the writing task as homework.
