W: I’ll give you a ticket. Text 6 W: Has Danny moved out? M: Yes. She moved out of this apartment a couple of days ago. W: Why didn’t she tell me she was leaving already? I even met her yesterday at the office. Where is she staying now? M: She’s now living in a very nice and quiet neighborhood with a big supermarket, beside the subway. But I don’t know the exact place though. W: I think she’s made the right decision by leaving this noisy apartment. M: Absolutely. She must be happier now. Text 7 M: Ms. Polaski. I’m a senior student in this school, and now I’m writing an article about new teachers for the school newspaper. Could you tell us something about you? W: Well, I was born in Chicago. My family moved to a small town in Indiana when I was 10. M: Did you like that? W: No, I hated it. I had to leave all my friends. But finally I made new ones. And after high school, I went away to university, studying chemistry and physics. I want to be a chemist, you know. I graduated from the University of Michigan, when I was 21. And the same year I started to teach math in a small high school before I moved here. Now I teach chemistry here, and I really enjoy it. Text 8 W: This is Sandy here. I’m calling to say goodbye. I’m going back home tomorrow. But before leaving I’d like to thank you for all you did during my visit here. M: You are welcome, Sandy. We are glad to have you here. By the way, you left something on the table. W: That’s a gift for you. Hope you will like it. M: Oh, thank you! What time are you leaving? W: My plane leaves at 10:20 tomorrow morning, but I must start two hours earlier. There is always a lot of traffic in your city. And it always takes the taxi or bus quite a long time to get to the airport. M: I can take you there in my car. W: Thanks, but I think I can take a taxi there. M: All right.
