The teacher uses a question to start the lesson. “What’s your impression of your school?” 2. Five pictures are given to help Ss recall our school. The teacher continues to ask another question “What subject do you study?” “Chinese, Maths, English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, History, Politics, P.E, Art, IT. And then tell the Ss to classify them into two groups. Chinese, Maths, English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, History, Politics are academic subjects; P.E, Art, IT are non-academic subjects. Of all the academic subjects, Chinese, Maths, English are main subjects in Gao kao. Physics, Chemistry, Biology are science subjects and Geography, History, Politics are art subjects. 3. The teacher goes on the question “which subject do you like best? Why?” Ss may have various answers.
