    Lesson 19 The Spring Festival 教材分析 This is the first lesson in this unit. The main topic is the Spring Festival, so improving the students’ abilities of listening and talking about the topic of the Spring Festival is very important. 教学目标 【知识目标】 Key vocabulary: special, have fun, the Spring Festival, wonderful, clean the house, make dumplings Key structures: Did you have fun at Christmas? What do you do for the Spring Festival? 【能力目标】 To understand conversations involving the Spring Festival. To practice the conversation about the Spring Festival with partners. 【情感目标】 Learn to respect others when we talk with others. Learn to answer your partners’ questions in the right way. 教学重难点 【教学重点】 Students can understand and use the following expressions: What do you do for the Spring Festival? clean the house/ make dumplings 【教学难点】 Learn to use the structures: What do you do for the Spring Festival? 课前准备 Tape recorder, Multimedia 教学过程 Step 1. Greetings and warm-up activities Ask the students to sing a song: Happy New Year. Step 2. Watch the cartoon and answer the questions T: Did you have fun at Christmas, Li Ming? Yes. The Christmas holiday was fan. (课文导入) Questions: Did Li Ming have a special holiday in China? What is Li Ming’s favorite holiday? What does Li Ming do for the Spring Festival? Step 3. Listening and vocabulary Play the recording in part 1. Play it again and ask the students to check the words they hear. Check the answers with the whole students. Step 4. Let’s do it Ask the students to answer the questions in PPT. Step 5. Speaking Work in pairs. Ask and answer the questions in the pictures. A: What holiday do you know? B: The Spring Festival. A: What will you do? B: I will make dumplings and play fireworks. Step 6. Homework Copy the words and text of Lesson 19.
