Respond to the teacher using the sentence patterns they’ve learnt in U1L1. To review the sentence patterns of greetings and lead students into the topic “Getting to Know Each Other” II. While-task procedures Step 1 Show pictures of the characters from the text book and talk about names. Look at the pictures and tell the family/last names and given/first names. To learn new words “family/last name, given/ first name”. Step 2 Read the dialogues in Tuning In and ask students to repeat and act out. Read the dialogues after the teacher, work in pairs and act out according to the true information. To practise the sentence patterns of names. Step 3 Show national flags of six countries. Read the countries and correct the mistakes of pronunciation. And then play a game. Match the flags with the countries and tell the nationalities. Play a game: Which flag is missing?
