高一重点词汇三 Units 1-3 知识讲解 重点单词： remain 【点拨】v. 剩下、还有，跟of连用表范围： After the fire nothing remained of the house. 大火之后房子就没有剩下什么了。 remaining adj. 剩余的，剩下的 You can set up a timetable for the remaining weeks before the race. (2019 四川模拟) 你可以为比赛前余下的几周做一个安排表。 link.v 继续保持、仍处于某状态： 跟形容词： Three out of four of them remained single. 他们有四分之三的人仍是单身。 跟分词： The door remained closed. 门仍然关闭。 They remained listening. 他们仍然听着。 跟名词： We can remain friends. 我们仍然是朋友。 跟介词短语： You can’t let the room remain like this. 你不能让门总是像这样。 跟不定式： Whether it will do us harm or good remains to be seen. 它是有害还是有益有待于观察。 search 【点拨】vt. 搜查、搜身 They searched every part of the forest. 他们搜查了森林的每个部分。 They searched him for the watch. 他们在他身上搜那块表。 I’ve searched my memory but can’t remember that man’s name. 我使劲儿回忆但是记不起那个人的名字。 search for sb./ sth. 寻找某人/物 search through …到处寻找、把……搜遍： They searched for him, but in vain. 他们到处找他，但没找到。 He searched through all the drawers for the key. 他搜遍所有的抽屉找钥匙。 注意：search through的宾语只能是物。即search through sth.(for sth) n. 搜索 the/ a/ one’s search for… 特指某次“搜寻”, 可与after连用： The search for the little girl went on all day. 对那个女孩的搜寻持续了一整天。 Six volunteers slid down the cliff with the help of a rope but gave up all hope of finding her alive after a 90-minute search.
