UNIT 6 SEE YOURSELF 【教学目标】 1.知识目标 (1)重点单词: self-centered, hesitate, adventure, cautious, practical, talented, imaginative, loyal, considerate, nervous, relax, stretch, interrupt, company, modest, fussy, examine, affect, image (2)重点短语: because of, except for, in spite of, for the sake (3)能理解、应用句型: a. I came back because of the rain. b. The road was empty except for a few cars. 2.语言技能目标 (1)理解并掌握新词的含义及应用。 (2)理解材料内容:通过上下文克服生词困难,掌握听力技巧,提高英语听力能力。 3.情感态度、文化意识、学习策略 在“学生为主体”的思想指导下,让学生成为课堂的主人,形成有效的“生生互动”,“和谐对话”,同时借助多媒体的优势使学生主动融入课堂教学情境之中,以调动学生积极性,激发学生参与课堂的潜能,建立良好的课堂氛围,真正发挥情感教学的优势。 【教学重点】 1.学习并掌握重点单词: na?ve, exceptional, poll, finalist, endure, refuge, overrun, teenage, gang, courageous, ex-gangster, dealer, coexist, disarm, sandbank, incoming, tide, coastguard, quicksand, wade, prompt, nominee. 2.学习并掌握重点短语: because of, except for, in spite of, for the sake 3.能理解、应用句型: a. The road was empty except for a few cars. 【教学难点】 1.学生对本课内容主旨大意的准确理解。 2.材料的理解及听力技巧的掌握。 【教学准备】 1.教师准备:多媒体课件、音响。 2.学生准备:课本及其他学习用品。 【教学过程】 Step 1 Warming up and greeting Daytime greeting to every student. Step2 Preparation for task 1. Ask students to discuss the problem of what kind of person do you think you are. 2. Ask students to finish the survey that “Do Other People See You as You See Yourself? ”in the “Reading” task in book and finish the comprehension in book. Step 3 Task First ask students to work individually. Spend five to ten minutes thinking about how to describe what the person you really are. Teacher gives help in vocabulary when students need. Second, ask students to read the text again and finish comprehension part. Third, ask students to study expressions part individually, and teacher explains the usages. Step 4 Word study Finish exercise in part "Word study". Step 5 Grammar Step-by-step grammar: prepositions (2): complex prepositions. Ask students to look at the sentences in part 1 and thinks what the bold parts have in common and finish the exercises in part 2. Step 6 Listening and speaking Pre-listening discussion. Why would you look into the mirror? Ask students to discuss about this problem. Ask students to listen to the CD and finish part 2. Step 7 Fun time Ask students to read the jokes which making fun of people’s concern about their image and think about why they are funny. Step 8 Further reading Ask students to read the passages about the “What You See Is the Real You” and finish the comprehension in book. Step 9 Summary Ask a student to summarize the content we learned today. Step 10 Homework 1.Listen to the radio. 2.Review the new words and sentences. ... ...
