Teaching Aids: ppt, a tape recorder Ⅳ. Teaching Procedure Step1. Leading-in Play the song If You are Happy and then introduce “ if ” structure with two questions. T: From the song we know that if we are happy we will clap hands, stomp feet or wink eyes. How about you What will do if you are happy S1: If I’m happy, I will laugh\ smile\dance\sing…… S2: If I’m happy, I will….. Step2. Speaking practice Give a condition on PPT and lead students to use “ if “. T: Look at the picture on the screen. What do you see Ss: A robot. T: Yes. If you have a robot, what will you ask it to do Ss: If I have a robot, I’ll ask it to do the laundry. T: How about you S1:…… S2:…… Practice like this, ask several students to answer. Step3. Listening practice 1a-1b Point out the four pictures and ask students to tell what they see. Explain that the girl’s thought bubble shows her going to the party with her two friends. Then match the statements with the responses you think make sense. Listen to the recording. Check your answers to activity 1a. You will hear four conversations. Each conversation will give you the matching response for one of the four sentences. Then talk about the answers together. Step4. Pair-work Now work with your partner. Make a conversation using the things that are happening in the pictures. A: I’m going to go to the party with Karen and Ann. B: If you do, you will have a great time. Ask six pairs of students to present their conversations to the class. Step5. Group-work Work in groups to make a survey. Show students lots of money on the PPT and ask their partners what they will do if they have lots of money. Then fill in the chart.
