Unit 5 Humans and Nature Lesson 1 A Sea Story 【Analysis of Teaching Materials】 【 What/主要内容】 语篇节选爱伦坡的短片小说《大漩涡底余生记》。该文讲述一位渔夫和两位兄弟遭遇a terrible storm in the sea。主人公的两个兄弟在莫肯斯大漩涡中丧生,主人公在面临被大漩涡吞没的危机时刻,突然冷静清醒,发现漩涡的奥秘,终于安全脱险。 【 Why/作者意图】 该文主题意义在于传达给学生一个自然灾害防范知识,在极度危险情境下保持冷静很重要,同时沉着冷静观察周围,发现自然规律,争取可以逃脱危险的一切办法条件。该文还旨在启发学生思考人类和自然的关系: 1.人类依赖自然;2.和自然相比,人类力量很渺小;3.在某种情境下,人类可能被自然摧毁、毁灭。 【 How/文体特征】 本文是一篇记叙文,记叙的要素齐全∶时间,地点,人物,事件,(发展),起因,(高潮),结果。 文章采用倒叙的手法。倒叙可以让文章精彩,有看头。所有的人都有好奇心,如果我们说一件事情,把事情最惊悚,最吸引人的地方首先摆出来,之后再交代这件事情的具体过程和原因,这样的话,人们就愿意看。 文章总共5段,Para.1是故事的倒叙。Something terrible happened to me.It took only six hours to break my body and soul.这两句话吸引读者的眼球,点出事件的严重性。余下4段按事件发展顺序描写,Paragraph2事件的起因开始,Paragraph3&4事件的发展经过,Paragraph5事件的结果。 文章有两条线。 第1条线是事情发展经过∶风暴漩涡开始———被风和浪带向漩涡———绑上木桶逃离渔船———获救。 第2条线是作者遭遇风暴漩涡的心理感受∶ Frightened—hopeless—calm—tired. 【Teaching Objectives】 By the end of the class, students are able to: know the basic elements and structure of the narration read general understanding and specific information have a better understanding of the relationship between humans and nature use their own words to voice what they will do when in danger 【Difficult and Key Points】 make students summarize the basic information of this story help students find out the structure of the text let students have a better understanding of the relationship between humans and nature 【Teaching Procedures】 Steps Intentions Time Lead-in Do you know any stories about the sea What can you see in the pictures 引入课文主题,激发学生的学习兴趣 3’ Pre reading Read the Fact File on page 30 and answer the questions. 培养学生的预测能力,语言能力和思维品质 2’ While reading Read for the main idea ①main idea of the passage ②text type of the passage (who when where) TASK 1: Ask students to match Read for details Choose the best answer.
