Source: Unit4, Compulsory 2, PEP (2019) Analysis of text Theme and content (What ) The theme of this unit is “human and society” and the topic is history and culture. What’s in a name is an exposition that talks about the name’s changes, history and culture of the UK. Structure (How) This article follows a clear structure and use the time order to introduce the UK logically. Author’s intention (Why) To introduce the history and culture of the UK to help students have a better understanding of this country. Analysis of students Cognitive psychology: Most students are poor in English, but they are very active and have a good attitude towards learning English.
