Look at the opening page and discuss the following questions. (1) Do you know how many working languages there are at an International conference (2) What are the official languages of the UN (3) What do you suppose the people are doing behind the glass on the upper levels 设计意图:引导学生讨论开篇页所呈现的信息,引出本单元话题,并对本课将要学习的国家及官方语言做好铺垫。 Step 2 Pre-listening 1. Show a video to let students know how to say hi in different countries. 2. Work on Activity 1. Look at the photos and discuss which countries they are. Match each photo with the correct country name. Then discuss which languages are spoken in these countries. 3. Learn some other countries and their languages. 设计意图:通过观看视频让学生了解不同国家标志元素及打招呼的方式,帮助学生顺利完成活动1,并呈现更多的国家标志性建筑和官方语言,为后面的听力活动解决词汇和文化障碍。 Step 3 While-listening 1. Work on Activity 2. Read the following questions and predict the meaning of the bold words. Then listen to the speech again and answer the questions.
