Analyze and understand the language of a news report. 2. Write a news report about a scientist. 教学过程: Step 1 Lead-in Have a guessing game: guess the main character of today’s class from a poem. Watch a video to know more about Tu Youyou. Step 2 Fast reading Review the structure of a news report The inverted pyramid. Read for the main idea Read the news report quickly and match the main idea with each part. Step 3 Detailed reading Read the lead (Para.1) carefully and get the most important information. Who; what; when; why; Read Part 2 carefully and fill in the blanks. Education: She studied _____at university. Work: She worked at the Academy of _____. Further training : She _____ further training courses in traditional Chinese medicine. Read the news report again and retell Tu’s personal experiences according to the timeline and key words. Read Part 3 carefully and choose the solution. Problems:1. The extracts failed to produce any promising results. B. Tu got inspiration from a 1600-year-old text and redesigned the experiments. 2.They couldn’t produce enough qinghao extract. C. They used household water containers. 3.
