Period 4　 单元语法讲练 动词短语 1．动词＋名词 have the patience 有耐心 take a seat 坐下 catch sb．'s eye 吸引某人的目光；引起某人的注意 spend time 度过时光 make an effort 尽力 He took a seat by the window． 他在窗户旁坐了下来。 The children made an effort to reach the red apples on the tree． 孩子们尽力去够树上的红苹果。 [名师点津]　这类动词短语中，动词为及物动词，后面的名词是动词的动作所涉及的对象。 [即时训练1]　完成句子 ①我害怕和新手一起冒险。 I'm afraid to take a chance/take chances/take a risk with beginners． ②维克多是一个从不灰心的人。 Victor is a man who never loses heart． 2．动词＋介词 break into 闯入 believe in 信任 begin with 以……开始 come across 偶然遇见 depend on 依靠 see to 处理 look into 调查 set about 着手做 agree with 同意；适合于 go after 追捕；追击 Will you see to the arrange ments for the next meeting？ 你来负责安排下次会议，好吗？ You look well．The air and the seafood in Sanya must agree with you，I suppose． 你气色很好，我想三亚的空气和海鲜肯定适合你。 We are both going after the same job． 我们俩都在谋求同一份工作。 [名师点津]　这类动词短语均相当于及物动词，其宾语不管是名词、代词，还是动词-ing形式，都只能放在介词之后。 [即时训练2]　完成句子 ①在机场，我偶遇了一位老朋友。 At the airport，I came across an old friend． ②虽然这个年轻人已经从大学毕业了，但他仍然依靠父母。 Although the young man has graduated from university，he still depends on his parents． ③专家一到医院便着手为司机做手术。 The moment the expert arrived at the hospital，he set about doing the operation on the driver． 3．动词＋副词 break down 坏掉；使分解；垮掉 break up 破碎；解散；分手 cut down 砍倒；削减 get over 克服 come up 走近；出现；被提及 take over 接收；接管 set off 出发；使爆炸 look up 好转；改善 put away 将……收起；积蓄 pay off (付清工资后)解雇；成功；奏效；付清；偿清 Old-fashioned phones matter when wireless networks break down in disasters． 当无线网络在灾难中瘫痪时，老式电话很重要。 Traditionally，college students hold a graduation ceremony to encourage themselves before they set off on their life journey． 传统上，大学生在开始他们的人生旅途之前会举行一次毕业典礼来鼓励自己。 We have to find means to get over the difficulties． 我们必须找到方法来克服困难。 [名师点津]　这类动词短语相当于及物动词，后面接宾语；若宾语是名词，可以放在动词和副词的中间，也可以放在副词的后面；若宾语是代词，要放在动词与副词的中间。但有些“动词＋副词”短语相当于不及物动词，后面不接宾语。 [即时训练3]　单句语法填空 ①Who will take over the company after the manager retires？ ②Although it is not easy to get over the difficulty，we will manage to get it over． ③It took the couple more than ten years to pay off their debt． 4．动词＋副词＋介词 add up to 结果是；总共是 put up with 忍受；容忍 get along/on with 与……相处；进展 look down on 瞧不起；轻视 look forward to 期待，盼望 get aross to 使……了解；让……听懂 break away from 挣脱；脱离 catch up with 赶上；达到 go in for 对某事有兴趣；参加考试 come up with 想出，提出 keep up with 跟上，保持同步 make up for 弥补 A goo ... ...
