The success of descriptive writing lies in details. There are two major ways to make detailed descriptions -- using dialogues and -- using five senses (sight, hearing, taste, touch and smell). The hook is an attention-getter, and the purpose is to engage the audience. The background information is given to develop the credibility of the writer. The Body The body is an essential part of a basic descriptive essay as the main discussion is done here. It further consists of three segments that are the topic sentence, sensory detail, and the actual details. The topic sentence informs that audience what you will discuss in the body, the sensory details tell the basic, and the actual details talk about the main crux of the essay. How to write a descriptive essay outline 3. The Conclusion The conclusion is the ending of the essay, and it finalizes the whole idea and purpose of the descriptive essay. Ending the essay abruptly leaves a negative impression on the reader; therefore, always try to end the discussion in a closing tone. You should summarise all the points and finish it on a clincher.
